Oases and film sets
The mountain oasis of Chebika hides a small waterfall and a palm-lined canyon. In the dunes near Ong Jmel, the Star Wars village of Mos Espa still stands.
Chott el Jerid and Douz
The road across Chott el Jerid, a vast salt lake, is unforgettable, especially at sunrise. Douz is the gateway to the Sahara, with camel rides into the dunes.
Getting around
Distances are long and the sights are far apart, which is why a day with your own Ventoura driver is the easiest way to see the south. A transfer from Tozeur Airport to Douz costs €45 for the whole vehicle.
